I moved with my family from the UK in 2006. Being the daughter of a hairdresser, I was brought up in and around salons, so it was a natural career path for me. I owned salons in the UK along with my Mom and Brother (who are also hairdressers) and it gives me great joy to see my daughter, Lilli, follow in the family footsteps. We started our 2nd salon in Australia in 2008 and have built Hair Dare You up from scratch to the busy and successful business that it is now. I love everything about hairdressing but when I’m cutting hair I really am in my happy place (and the girls say it’s the only time I’m quiet). I love the detail, control and precision that goes into a great haircut and I believe that it takes many years of learning and perfecting until the skill becomes 2nd nature. I have also spent many years as a senior educator for Balmain hair both in the UK and here in Australia. I enjoy passing on my skills and learnings to other members of the team. I am blessed to have such a great team working with me. We are not just colleagues and friends, we are part of a very unique family and for that I am very grateful.
I was born in the UK and moved to Perth with my family in 2006. I have been hairdressing since I was 14 but was born into the industry and like to say that hairdressing is in my blood. My passion is for colouring, especially blondes and correction work. My love for hairdressing started from watching my Nan, Uncle and my mum do hair in their salons in the UK. From perming to hair extensions, I am fully qualified in all aspects of hairdressing and pride myself on being a perfectionist in all areas. My interests outside of the salon are makeup, fashion and food. If I wasn’t a hairdresser I would like to think, I’d be a chef or a makeup artist. I love being creative and am very open minded when it comes to hair, especially colour work. I love a challenge, learning something new every day and pushing the limits of what hair can do.
I was born in Perth. I completed my apprenticeship with Hair Dare You, winning Apprentice of the year, WA, along the way. I was also been selected to compete in the World Skills competition representing WA. My inspiration was a family friend who was a hairdresser and owned her own salon, from a very young age I would watch her and think “I want to do that”. I really enjoy styling, up styles ,colouring and perfecting my skill set as i move from senior stylist to salon manager. My interests outside of work are shopping, fashion, makeup and spending time with my family. I hope to be able to travel and work and learn overseas.
I'm Emily and I joined HDU as a Saturday girl in July 2021. In October of that year I became an apprentice. When i used to get my own hair done I used to wonder what it would be like to be a hairdresser and I suppose that made me want to choose hairdressing as a career. I love going to the beach and spending time with my family. I'm a Perth girl and also a twin!
Hi my name is Liyl. I was born in Sheffeild in the Uk and moved to Perth when I was 5. I love hanging out with my family and I enjoy a good steak (with garlic sauce !)
