The service that we perform is a chemical straightening, please do not confuse this with a relaxing or ‘keratin straightening service’ (Keratin doesn’t have the ability to straighten your hair!)

This service will take your curly, wavy, frizzy, unruly hair and make it straight forever. Of course, your new growth will grow just as it did before, but that’s easy to fix, we simply repeat the straightening processes on the new growth, usually at the 6-month mark.

How does it work?

• Part of your hairs structure are bonds. These bonds assist in making texture of your hair. Using a very safe and widely used chemical, we are able to break these bonds and re-form them into a new pattern. We then set this new pattern and it stays that way for ever.
• Want more of a technical explanation? Thioglycolic Acid is used to break down the disulphide bonds within the cortex of the hair. Hydrogen peroxide is used to set new bonds into a new pattern. 
• There is absolutely no Formaldehyde used in our service and no sneaky derivatives of formaldehyde that when heated make formaldehyde.
• We are fully qualified and very experienced in this type of service and will never attempt this service if we think that the integrity of your hair will be compromised.

The process

• A full face to face consultation is required where we will gather your hairs history. If you have had any bleach or lightening service on the hair that is to be straightened, then we are sorry, but this straightening service is not for you. 
• During the consultation we will take a sample of your hair so that we can perform a test strand to ensure that your hair is suitable for this service.

At your appointment

• We deep cleanse your hair and then apply the straightening cream and allow to process. We then rinse your hair and apply an anti-frizz and multi vitamin treatment. Your hair is then dried and left to cool. We apply a neutralizer to fix the bonds into their new shape. We rinse the hair, apply a deeply moisturizing treatment, and dry your hair. Finally, we trim your hair to ensure that it looks its very best. 
• We will talk you through the aftercare regime and give you a full-sized take-home pack of products.
• The whole process takes from 3 1/2 hours depending on length and density of your hair.
